More Destruction

This  is a picture of me on Port Road Sea view. The concrete slabs have been lifted up by the sea and placed back down by the waves.

A boat by the Hutt River mouth is washed up onto the beach, and is tilted slightly. 

Thursday night.

Howling wind rattle the windows, threatening to shatter the feeble glass. Twigs scratch the house, like long claws. Tall dark shadows flicker on the walls, jumping around the room. The lights flicker dramatically, taking one last breath of light, before we are plunged into darkness. I stumble over to the table, fumbling for the torch. I slide the switch, and a tunnel of light bursts out of the torch, illuminating the wall opposite me. A deafening bang comes from outside, as another tree surrenders to the weather. Branches continue to sway violently, their leave rustling. Silent panic wraps around the house, as I search for candles and matches. Soon, the soft candlelight is allowing us to wander around the rooms, checking everyone is alright. We settle into our cosy beds, layering the blankets thickly. I wrap the blankets around me, like a caterpillar in a cocoon. I close my eyes, as the weather continues to cause a trail of destruction around New Zealand.

Yikes.

Next door neighbours shed.

Damage at houses in my street. Luckily we got our power back at midnight which was a bit of a shock, as all the lights suddenly turned back on, because we didn't turn them off. At least we got the day of school :-) And I spent the whole day playing Wii with Jack and Caitlin because they had no power. McDonalds was packed, because everyone was rushing in because they couldn't cook. Anyways..

Power's out.

Our power went out, so I didn't get to watch Shortland Street :-( it's still out, and heaps of huge branches are falling out of the sky..And I can't do my Hunter work because I can't see.  Make sure u have some candles and torches. Be prepared guys :)

Discovery Day! :)

On discovery day, I came to school wearing mis-matching shoes, and my pyjama pants. My hair was purple, red and blue! It was fun to try out all the activities that the teachers had planned for us. My favourite was Mr Theo's. He had "Water Pressure" and "Smashing stuff", which were both kinda dangerous..

I'd like to give some people some awards. :)

Caitlin- Best Umbrella. :D Well done :-)

Thoughts on this kid? He is on a show called "Wife Swap." And he doesn't want to participate in trying to get healthy, so this is what happens.

(Excuse the language at beginning. It's mild, and you have to be listening for it so yeah..)

Inquiry.

Brain.

I did my Inquiry Learning on the "Brain".

I used a book called "Who Am I" to research a lot on the brain.

My work was presented as a poster. I took a photo of me from the side, and stuck the different parts of the brain, that are used for different activities over my head. I then wrote facts in the speech bubbles.
