Towering trees loom tall; like
statues wearing cloaks of shadows. Dancing light filters through a canopy of
green. Swaying branches twist towards me; like distorted limbs. Black vines
swallow a fallen log; creeping over the rotten wood. Suddenly, I hear a crack;
the forbidden noise tearing through the silence. I whip around, my pupils floating in pools of
white, as my eyes widen. There’s somebody out there. Dehydrated leaves crunch
beneath me. The last shred of light fades. Shudders shoot down my spine. I am lost in a
void of darkness, in a world of haunted secrets…and I’m not alone.
